High sense of social responsibility is an important part of Geberit’s sustainability strategy.
As an active participant and sponsor to the reconstruction projects in the disaster area of the Wenchuan earthquake, Geberit is donating via the SwissCham in China, together with some other Swiss companies, the reconstruction project of the Longxing Nursery School in Chongzhou, Sichuan province. The new school is designed by Virtuarch, a Swiss architecture office in Shanghai. With a construction area of 2,500 sqm, the school can host 240 students and will be suitable and accessible for disabled children as well. The arrangements of the classroom buildings refer to the pattern of habitation in rural areas and small towns in Sichuan as well as in Switzerland. The project meets seismic-resistance requirements and total investment is 7 million CNY. Geberit will donate the complete bathroom drainage system, including HDPE pipes, concealed cisterns and electronic taps.
