"I did not need to change companies to be able to make a career."

Sieglinde Just, Head Human Resources

Geberit Vertriebs GmbH, Pfullendorf, Germany

After receiving my advanced technical college certificate in 1981, I began an apprenticeship at Geberit as an industrial manager. I have been working for the company ever since. After the apprenticeship, I had the opportunity to start in my "dream department", Payroll Accounting, and after a few years I was promoted to Group Manager and then to Department Manager in 1993 – the first woman to hold this position at our site. I completed studies in business administration on the side while I was working.

In the mid-1990s I assumed responsibility for the entire HR department as Personnel Manager for the local sales company in Germany. This step was a big opportunity for me. I familiarized myself with the new area "on the job", so to speak, supported by a number of training initiatives. During the course of centralizing personnel at the Pfullendorf site, I also took over personnel management for the sales company and later direct management of employees in Human Resources. In 2008 I assumed personnel support for the Eastern European markets and thus acquired international responsibility. In this way I have gained an ever broader perspective during my career at Geberit.

What I especially like about my responsibilities is that I work in a company which really implements and experiences many HR tools. And that we apply ourselves to many future challenges in the HR area.
